Agenda - Committee Skills for young people

This is a programme organised by Laois Education Centre, Macra na Feirme and Laois Leader for 5th and 6th Classes. We learn about the functions of committees and the importance of volunteers in the community. For the programme you choose a community group in your area and find out about them by attending a meeting and interviewing some of the committee members. Then you present your project on a poster or pages for display and join other schools in displaying and speaking about your project to the judges. Last year we chose our local Foróige for the project. This year, we are hoping to learn more about the Tidy Towns Committee. The presentation night is on 20th February in Abbeyleix.
